Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is the nodal authority for industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects along the Yamuna Expressway region established under the UP Industrial Development Act 1976.
A brainchild of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, YEIDA was established along with Greater Noida (GNOIDA) and NOIDA authorities to streamline industrial and infrastructure development in the state.
The authority plans, develops, and implements frameworks for regional development under its jurisdiction along the Yamuna Expressway.
YEIDA: Major Functions And Objectives
The primary objective of YEIDA is to plan systematic industrial development by enhancing the investment climate around Delhi NCR. The development will be supported by world-class infrastructure without disturbing the riverine ecology of the region.
The main functions of YEIDA include:
Land acquisition for Yamuna Expressway and local area development
Execution of Yamuna Expressway project
Preparation of a master plan for the strategic development of the industrial development area
Development of Infrastructure facilities such as drainage, electrification, feeder roads, and other facilities in the area
Flagship Projects In YEIDA Jurisdiction
1- NOIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, JEWAR
The Government of Uttar Pradesh envisaged the construction of the Noida International Airport in Jewar alongside the Yamuna Expressway.
Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) is a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, the catalyst behind the architecture. The airport is expected to draw investments worth ₹35,000 crore, and after the initial phase, investments worth ₹10,000 for adjoining micro markets.
Noida International Airport will bring in multi-modal connectivity, serve as an integrated cargo hub and provide facilities for maintenance, repair and aircraft overhaul.
The five landmark runways set to cater 225 million passengers annually (at full capacity) shall create approximately 1,00,000 jobs in the region. With seamless connectivity to Delhi, Noida, and NCR, the airport will link the national commercial and logistics hub with the global value chains.

2- INTERNATIONAL FILM CITY

In this regard, a massive 4 million sq. metres of land area has been identified and approved by the government. In the first phase of 9,30,777 sq. m, it has 6,27,263 sq. m land for industrial use and 3,03,514 sq. m for commercial use.
The Film City is all set to embrace an industrial ecosystem for production and film shooting studios, as well as pre-production and post-production facilities.

3- LOGISTICS PARK
A Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) facility at Tappal Bajna within YEIDA is also coming up to enhance the investment landscape by leveraging the present potential and promoting the economic development of the area through major industrial activities.
The MMLP is expected to be in a tentative land area of 16,00,000 sq. m with a budget of ₹3,500 crores, generating employment for 1,100 people. The MMLP is bound to provide robust transport links via rail and road, single-window services, value-added services, and custom clearance facilities.
Given the freight profile and upcoming industrial development potential of the proposed site, the MMLP is expected to have the potential to develop as a storage and warehousing hub.
4- MEDICAL DEVICE PARK
The upcoming Medical Device Park at Sector 28 on Yamuna Expressway will revolutionise the healthcare market in India.
Under the ‘Make In India’ initiative by the Indian Government, Medical Device Park will provide a conducive environment for medical investments while also paving the way for setting up manufacturing plants.
YEIDA's Medical Device Park will be North India’s first dedicated medical device park, sprawled over 14,16,400 sq. m and has around 5,000 jobs in the offing on the Yamuna Expressway.
The park will promote cost-effective testing and scientific facilities while providing a more competitive facility for indigenous manufacturers to create quality products in India.
5- TOY CITY
Under the flagship programme called ‘Make in India’ by the Union Government, the Toy City in Sector 33, Greater Noida, is a giant leap towards self-reliant India.
Set up by YEIDA in a massive area of over 4,04,686 sq. m, this industrial hub is India's first international toy cluster that will beat the sale of Chinese toys in India.
The Toy City will likely provide indirect employment to more than 4, 00,000 people in the country and direct employment to 50,000 people in the initial phase.
6- TEXTILE PARK
As Jewar Airport is going to be the major export and import hub for goods, Textile Park, with a massive land area of 8,09,371 sq. m, is also coming up on the Yamuna Expressway.
The Park has the potential to generate 5,00,000 jobs, with 90% of the workforce as women. It will integrate the national textile market with the global value chain.
Additionally, as the reports suggest, around 150 companies will be setting up their units to create one ecosystem for weaving, spinning, and printing to dying and garment manufacturing.
YEIDA Jurisdiction
YEIDA has propelled growth along the Yamuna Expressway as many areas under its jurisdiction are transforming into world-class hubs with outstanding amenities.
The 6-lane wide, 165 km long Yamuna Expressway has improved the connectivity from NCR to Agra and reduced the travel time between these two major locations.
Today, YEIDA covers more than 1180 villages of Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahar, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura and Agra, subject to a promising ecosystem for rapid industrial growth.
