What is GNIDA?

GNIDA is the nodal authority responsible for the planning and development of the Greater Noida region. It was formed in January 1991 under the UP Industrial Area Development Act 1976.

The act provides a basic framework for transforming the region into an integrated developed city featuring top-notch services, broad connectivity and an advanced infrastructure of the highest standards.

Functions of GNIDA

GNIDA plans, develops, facilitates, and regulates operations & processes for the entire region. It is responsible for serving the following objectives:

  • Noida Metro Rail

Noida Metro Line, or Aqua Metro Line, is a fast transit system that runs from Noida Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida of Gautam Buddha Nagar. It is a 29.7 km long metro line that is fully under the authority of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), a Joint Venture Company of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Aqua Line runs from Northwest to Southeast, with most of its route along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway. Currently, there are 21 stations designated on the Aqua Line and covers the entire journey within 45 minutes.

  • Gautam Buddha University

Established under the Uttar Pradesh Act (9) of 2002, Gautam Buddha University is a state-of-the-art university recognised by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act. It commenced its first academic session in August 2008 at its massive 20,68,017 Sq. Mtr. campus at Greater Noida.

Being a member of the Association of Indian Universities, the university comprehensively covers a wide range of subjects in Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in engineering, Computer Applications, Business Administration, Biotechnology and Buddhist Studies.

  • Sports Complex

Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, or Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, is a state-of-the-art sports stadium in Greater Noida. Named after the great freedom fighter - Vijay Singh Pathik - this complex is now on the way to establishing five mini-sports courts for the following:

  • Football

  • Bowling

  • Tennis

  • Basketball

  • Volleyball

An additional indoor stadium with the following facilities:

  • Olympic size swimming pool

  • Badminton

  • Table Tennis

  • Billiards

  • Gymnasium and squash courts

The complex has served as the home ground for the Afghanistan National Cricket team in the past.

Sports Complex

  • Ganga Water Project

In 2005, a proposal to fetch Ganga water from Hapur to Jaitpur in Greater Noida was floated.  Subsequently, GNIDA set out to build a 23-km water supply framework at an estimated cost of Rs. 318 crore.

More than 80% of the project was functional by 2022, with GNIDA supplying Ganga water to 28 sectors within the Greater Noida region. The remaining 5-10 sectors were to be functional in a few weeks as well.

  1. Open the Greater Noida Authority website or visit https://www.greaternoidaauthority.in/ on your device

  2. Select "Allotee Onine Services" from the drop-down menu on the right side.

  3. You will be redirected to the user dashboard with multiple login options available for Allotte Login, Authority Login, Citizen Dashboard, and more.  Choose as per your preference & profile.

New Schemes

GNIDA allows investors to participate in online auctions for projects under various schemes. Notification updates on the website keep users informed on the same.

Allotment Details

GNIDA’s screening committee examines all received proposals against the established rules of allotment.  The process is built for absolute transparency, where bidding and allotment happen online.

If three or more bids qualify, an e-auction is held.  If less than three bids qualify, an extension is allowed to meet a minimum three-bids benchmark.

GNIDA Jurisdiction

There are around 293 villages as of 2023 within the jurisdiction of the Greater Noida Authority, as notified by the U.P. State Government.

Like GNIDA, the UP government commissioned the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to facilitate the development of the Yamuna Expressway region. The two authorities operate independently with key differences below:
